This workshop will examine ethical challenges that are unique to rural mental health treatment. Attendees will identify how clients, families, other community members, and the practitioner are affected by these ethical challenges. We will examine how the ACA Code of Ethics provides us with ethical guidelines, as well as challenges presented within the code. Attendees will learn how to work through challenges to better serve clients and maintain healthy boundaries. We will examine personal biases as well as identify resources and supports for ethical decision making in client care.
