About Amber

Even as a young child, Amber knew she wanted to be in a helping profession.  She began her college path in the field of physical therapy.  However, once she attended her first psychology class, she knew this was the field for her.  She began to develop her understanding of people, as well as her communication and listening skills and she knew she wanted to be a counselor.  She went to Valdosta State University to work towards her Master's Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology.

Working in many different settings over the years, including community mental health, intensive outpatient programs, and substance abuse treatment facilities, she developed a passion for working with individuals with a history of trauma.  She began training for specialized treatment of trauma and began to specialize in the healing of those who have overcome domestic violence, childhood abuse, and sexual violence.  Amber uses EMDR therapy in many of her sessions.

In her spare time, Amber enjoys spending time with her family, attending yoga classes, cooking, and learning new skills and talents!
